Global Web hosting giant 1&1 announced in mid-September plans to expand services in North America, including offering a new business hosting package designed around performance and scalability. The company already offers classic hosting services in North America as part of a product line currently offered to 10 million customers around the world. In addition, a new U.S. headquarters was opened in Pennsylvania.
In launching the new American services, 1&1 has developed an unlimited-use package for businesses to give them all the tools they need at an affordable price. The company’s dynamic cloud servers have also been beefed up to make them usable with the new business services, while also providing additional scalability to current cloud customers. The American business packages are centred on shared hosting for now with plans to move into other platforms in the near future.
The main feature of the new business services and cloud servers is their scalability which allows quick transfer of hardware in and out in just a matter of minutes. Customers will be able to add processors, hard disk space, and more features with a simple request to tech support. With 1&1’s new business packages, customers will have maximum control over their service at all times.
Founded in 1988, 1&1 is a wholly-owned subsidiary of United Internet. Currently they host more than 11 million domain names on green servers numbering more than 70,000. The company conducts business all across the world and maintains offices and data centres in the United States, Canada, Poland, and several Western European nations.
