On May 17, 2012 Canadian web hosting company CentriLogic celebrated the opening of their brand-new Toronto data centre with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Just eight days later they topped it with the announcement that WIND Mobile has selected them to be their provider of Web hosting and IT infrastructure throughout Canada. It is a great score for the company, which also has data centres in Mississauga and two cities in Western New York State.
According to officials from WIND Mobile, the 16,000 ft.² data centre in downtown Toronto will provide full support for the company’s back office systems. From the data centre CentriLogic will also provide WIND’s Web hosting along with secure bandwidth and network connectivity throughout the length of the five-year deal. According to WIND Mobile VP of information technology Atif Ahmad, the deal will enable his company to devote all of its attention to making sure its customer base of more than 400,000 continues to get the highest quality mobile services possible along with innovation and quality customer service.
“WIND Mobile has made an impact in the wireless telecommunications space by paying attention to specific customer needs,” Ahmad said. “We are in a state of rapid growth, and CentriLogic provides us with constant peace of mind knowing that our critical systems are secure and available.”
The choice of Toronto as the location for CentriLogic’s new data centre was heavily influenced by the fact that it would give the web hosting company greater access to nearby companies like WIND Mobile, according to CEO Robert Ouffley. He went on to say CentriLogic plans to provide collocation, cloud computing, and managed hosting services to many more companies in the area.
