Colt Technology Services filled a major position within its organisation during the festive season, as Adriaan Oosthoek became the new executive vice president.
Oosthoek will take over from Bernard Geoghegan who is leaving the company to pursue another career path and concentrate on his own outstanding projects. This transition will begin in March 2013 where Oosthoek will oversee the organisation’s European data centre services.
This change in personnel comes during a period of growth for the company. Colt Technology Services has just spread its enterprise cloud services throughout most of Europe, and it has made sure customers can access enterprise cloud services from data centres in their locality.
The company also took over ThinkGrid to expand its range and include a completely new selection of cloud-based services. It also took control of 200 resellers from the UK into its community.
Colt CEO Rakesh Bhasin spoke of the new appointment: “We are delighted that Adriaan Oosthoek is joining Colt at this important stage in the growth of our Data Centre Services business.” He continued: “Adriaan brings with him a deep understanding of the colocation and wholesale data centre models, coupled with significant knowledge of our principal European markets. He has a mandate to deliver on our growth agenda and ensure we provide a best in class customer experience, with innovative solutions and services that address our customers’ business needs.”
Observers predict the appointment of Oosthoek came because of his experience with working with the Telecity Group in the UK as managing director. In this role, he managed the organisation’s reputation, as well as its market presence. He also founded the Dutch branch of Teles AG, an IT services and solutions provider in Europe.
People within the company expect the new appointment to enhance the current growth of Colt Technology Services in 2013.
