Shopify is an excellent e-commerce solution that makes operating an online store relatively easy. You don’t need any specific coding knowledge to get a store up and running, either. The challenge is getting people to your store to make that first purchase.
The internet is languishing with e-commerce sites no one knows about. Your site doesn’t have to be one of them. Here are some strategies for driving traffic to your Shopify store:
1. Get Active on Social Media
One of the best avenues for advertising your online venture is your social media channels. If you’re not employing white hat SEO practices for your Shopify store, that also needs to change. White hat SEO covers a full range of things including blog content, keywords usage, meta-tags, page titles and descriptions, etc. Either educate yourself on SEO or invest in an SEO expert who can help you get your store off the ground.
4. Offer Regular Promotions
Lastly, word-of-mouth is the best marketing your Shopify store could receive. If you have a handful of regular customers, utilize them by offering regular promotions challenging them to refer other customers. You’d be surprised how many people will spread the word if they can earn a free product or get a discount on their next purchase.
Shopify is a great e-commerce solution that makes setting up an online store easy. But it cannot magically drive traffic to your site. You need to take a proactive role in going out and getting those customers that will make your store a success.
