Every year bi-monthly Canadian business publication PROFIT Magazine ranks the 200 fastest-growing Canadian businesses based on their revenue growth over five years. The list is prestigious in the sense that it tells Canadian entrepreneurs who’s hot and who’s not. This year (2012), Canadian web hosting company iWeb is proud to announce they made the 24th annual list coming in at number 82. That makes iWeb one of only 14 companies to have been ranked by PROFIT at least five times.
As one of Canada’s fastest-growing companies iWeb has seen its revenue jump more than 600% since 2007. Just five years ago iWeb’s revenue was pegged at $8.8 million; at the close of the 2011 fiscal year it was up to $35.5 million. Growth that impressive is expected from some of the bigger names in web hosting industry, but it is quite an accomplishment for iWeb as a Canadian-based Internet company.
“We are very, very proud to be ranked on the PROFIT 200 for a fifth consecutive year, 2011 has probably been our busiest yet,” noted iWeb CEO Eric Chouinard. “As iWeb continues to grow, maintaining high-percentage revenue growth becomes more complex, as everything else – like staff and IT infrastructure – must scale and grow proportionally. This is only possible thanks to our team’s dedication, collaboration and relentless desire to innovate and succeed; congratulations to every one of our 229 employees.”
iWeb was founded started in 1996 by Chouinard and fellow entrepreneur Martin Leclair. The company’s original focus was to provide general Internet related services to SMEs but the company quickly morphed into a web hosting provider to meet customer needs. Today iWeb provides cloud services, dedicated hosting, and smart servers to tens of thousands of customers in 150 countries.
