Liquid Web and New Horizons Team up for Training

Michigan-Based Web hosting company Liquid Web made a major announcement via their company blog regarding a certification and training program being offered jointly at New Horizons Computer Learning Center’s East Lansing facilities. The program is designed to provide Red Hat training to individuals who want to become part of the Liquid Web support team but lack the skills and knowledge to do so.

“For those considering applying to join the exciting team of 300+ Heroic Support engineers at Liquid Web, but not yet possessing the relevant technical skills, this is the ideal training program for you,” reads the announcement. “Liquid Web and New Horizons have teamed up to provide Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) classes in New Horizon’s East Lansing location, positioned in convenient proximity to Liquid Web’s headquarters and three Central US Data Centers.”

The week-long course gives students practical and hands-on experience followed by an exam at the conclusion. All who pass are given the credential of Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA). The program is designed as a fast track course for advanced Linux users only. Candidates with little or no Linux training will find it difficult to keep up, let alone pass the exam.

Liquid Web and New Horizons have teamed up to offer the course the week of July 30 (2012). New Horizons is offering a special discounted price of just $2500 to those who sign up through Liquid Web. The normal price for the course, which runs Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, is $3600. There’s no word from Liquid Web as to whether they’ll be looking for job candidates at the end of the week or expecting those candidates pursue Liquid Web on their own.
