Web hosting company LiquidWeb continues the upgrade of its Smart Servers line with the recent announcement on their blog that Windows hosting has been added. The announcement comes just days after the company made known its plans to add solid-state drives (SSD) to that same line. By making Windows hosting now available on Smart Servers LiquidWeb gives customers yet another choice in their preferred method of hosting.
According to the blog post, the decision to offer Windows hosting was in direct response to the requests of LiquidWeb customers. The company went through a significant re-engineering process to make the Windows hosting available in its US western and central regions. The new platform supports 64-bit Windows 2008 and Parallels Plesk, and is available for both dedicated Smart Servers and LiquidWeb’s Smart VPS. Customers planning to use the new SSDs can also choose Windows hosting.
Customers that want to continue using Linux servers will be able to use both on the same platform. Furthermore, installation and setup is made as easy as possible through features like the ability to deploy from images, image saving, automated and on-demand deployment, and a professional management console. Windows hosting includes advanced network support, private networking, easy-to-use load balancing, and complete scalability on demand.
“Windows Smart Server™ packages are available at competitive prices in both Liquid Web Hosting Regions, US West (Arizona) and US Central (Michigan), and on Smart SSD as well as Smart VPS™ server configurations,” the company blog states. “We now feature Windows 2008 R2 SP1 images that are ready to order with our Fully Managed, Core Managed and Self Managed options. As we constantly look to innovate and develop, we will continue adding exciting new features to Windows on Smart Server™.”
