Lunarpages Offering New onthenetOffice Desktop Service

Web hosting company Lunarpages announced the introduction of a new hosted desktop service into its product portfolio. onthenetOffice powers this new desktop service.

Clients can now access their applications and data from any Internet-enabled device, such as smartphones. It includes the latest SMX Speed Technology to launch applications faster than ever before. The original press release announcing the new service claimed applications could launch in approximately one second.

The desktop service is primarily a service for companies that have a mobile workforce. For employers, it is extremely effective at allowing them to stay in touch with their employees. Service providers also benefit as a July conference presentation hosted by Microsoft and Citrix at the Worldwide Partner Conference revealed it offers up and above 20 percent profit margins.

The desktop offered through Lunarpages charges a monthly subscription fee and features 24-hour support. It is priced for each user and uses 4-D Security from onthenetOffice to protect against environmental, physical, and system threats. It also includes a disaster recovery service should the worst happen.

Lunarpages said its new desktop services form part of its plan to offer its customers new technology to streamline their IT activities.
