My Hosting, a prominent web-hosting provider, recently expanded its customer service options by unveiling its new Twitter customer care system. This offers another avenue for customers to communicate with the company.
Currently, Myhosting.com possesses three customer and technical support options: phone, live chat, and email communication. These support options have now been enhanced by a new Twitter account, which will remain open 24/7 to customers all over the world.
The customer support manager for the company, Jim Bhutta, said, “Our customers want to communicate with us by whatever means is most convenient to them.”
He also went onto say that the company wanted to make additional choices available to avoid restricting customers. According to him, they felt it would benefit their entire customer base if they made themselves available any time of the day or night.
This isn’t the web host’s first foray into social media. They currently own and operate the Twitter handle @myhosting. This account mainly specialises in news and answering the occasional customer question. New handle @myhostingcare will specialise exclusively in customer care.
Among other things, support representatives on the Twitter account will address customer inquiries, scheduled maintenance, and urgent updates about the company’s servers.
Celel Ulgen, CMO of Myhosting.com, said social media would play a vital role in the company’s plans. He said it was increasingly important in the online world and this is just the beginning of what the company wants to do.
The CMO further explained how the web host wants to become more accessible. They wanted to become an active part of the industry community, as opposed to just being a bystander. Ulgen explained how this meant they must expand beyond standard sales, marketing, and customer care.
Observers assert this is a wise move from the organisation as it is not uncommon for businesses to interact via social media. Some say this will be more powerful and more cost-effective at marketing the Myhosting.com brand.
