MyHosting, a leading web-hosting and cost-effective email company, based in Toronto, has unveiled plans to re-launch its popular Virtuozzo VPS plans, to include both CentOS and Debian Linux.
The SoftCom- owned company provides hosting services to more than 10 million customers in 140 countries, and the re-launch is certain to please many people. Included in the new update are package offerings including LAMP Developer and Linux Reseller products, and updated offerings from cPanel and Plesk Panel-based VPS are also being introduced.
Probably the biggest launch of the enhancements for existing service plans is the new Ubuntu 12.04 LTS offering. This adds the increasingly-used Ubuntu to the range of Windows and Linux-based Virtual Private Server solutions already offered by myhosting.com. Ubuntu is based on the Debian platform and version 12.04 LTS offers the advantage to customers of extended 5 year support, guaranteeing all updates and patches until 2017.
Product Manager and myhosting.com parent company SoftCom Inc. had this to say about the launch, “I’m pleased that we have been able to enhance our portfolio of Linux VPS Hosting solutions.”
“Our launch of CentOS 6 and Debian 6 gives our customers access to the latest and greatest Linux-based hosting solutions on the market. And we’re expecting that our new Ubuntu VPS solution will result in some good traction, based on Ubuntu’s popularity as a desktop Operating System.”
The Virtuozzo re-launch will appeal to many existing customers and is likely to bring in new custom, especially from the growing number of Ubuntu operating system users. The new VPS plans also coincide with limited period reduced hosting plans on offer from MyHosting, which is likely to give them a further edge over competitors.
