Fresh on the heels of last month’s (October 2011) announcement regarding its revamped shared hosting plans, Canadian web host provider Myhosting recently announced a brand new VPS tool now available to all current customers. The tool makes it possible for the company’s virtual hosting customers to design their virtual spaces to their own specifications rather than having to use a “one size fits all” package. The tool is a re-launch of the old configuration tool but with significant modifications.
One most important features comes by way of the fact that users of the new tool can also incorporate Plesk with their virtual space as well as use a standard Cpanel. Plesk users will have access to the Parallels Plesk control panel plus other features including an anti-virus suite, a suite license, and even a billing module. The idea is to give users all of the flexibility they need to make sure their virtual spaces operate in just the way they want them to.
In an official statement Myhosting product manager Jeremy Adams called the new VPS tool “awesome.” He went on to address the need for VPS customers to be able to custom design their spaces on their own – because only they know exactly what they need. Furthermore, by eliminating features that customers don’t want or need, Myhosting is able to provide a tool that costs less.
Myhosting is part of the Toronto based firm Soft Com, and provides web hosting and other related services throughout Canada and across the globe. If you’re curious about the new tool you can take it for a test drive by visiting their website. The test drive is available to both customers and non-customers alike.
