Vancouver-based Web hosting company PEER 1 has been investing a lot of time and resources in their UK division, with obvious results. The company recently announced first quarter EMEA revenues of nearly CAD $18.21 million, representing growth of almost 100% over the last 12 months and showing that PEER 1 is quickly gaining on UK market leader Rackspace.
PEER 1 has worked diligently on increasing their UK footprint by building a specialized platform for future growth and acquiring additional resources in neighbouring France. Yet they credit their employees with most of their success.
“The quality of our people is what makes us great and they are why businesses are turning to us in numbers,” said PEER 1 EMEA Managing Director Dominic Monkhouse. “The last year saw significant developments for the company in the UK, which combined with our passion for customer service helps our clients realise the possibilities of the Internet.”
Recently PEER 1 completed the acquisition of NetBenefit, the UK’s oldest and largest provider of managed web hosting solutions to SMEs. That acquisition allowed the company to increase their UK workforce by an additional 100 people. Company officials expect at least an additional 50% growth by this time next year. They plan on opening brand-new offices along the UK’s Southern coast in the near future as well.
PEER 1 was established in 1999 by two entrepreneurs who believed in the untapped power of the Internet. What started out as a small web hosting company in Vancouver, British Columbia has evolved into the number five hosting company in the world. PEER 1 services 12,000 customers around the world offering shared hosting, managed hosting, cloud services, collocation, dedicated servers, and more. Their European headquarters are located in Southampton, UK.
