Tucows, the Toronto-based Internet services wholesaler, recently announced through a company blog post the addition of more than 100 new country code domain names. The new domains are part of the integration of domain wholesaler ePag, a company which Tucows purchased earlier in 2011. The ePag acquisition also positions Tucows to release a lot more new domains as the integration continues into next year.
All of the country code domains have been added to Tucows OpenSRS platform for resellers. The domains are primarily top-level with a smaller number of second and third-level domains as well. Examples of some of the new offerings are .il (Israel), .pl (Poland), .nz (New Zealand), and .za (South Africa). According to the two cows announcement these new domains are important to regional customers looking to market services specifically for the countries in question. Some of the domains have some evolving restrictions but Tucows has said they will keep their website updated as rules and regulations change.
Interested resellers can find a complete list of available domains along with the company’s pricing structure by logging in to the OpenSRS control panel and looking in the Domain Manager. Tucows has added appropriate documentation to help resellers walk through the process of ordering and using the new domains. Any questions should be directed to the company’s support department via normal support channels.
